Firmly Deny the Issue of the Budget of Rp6.7 Billion, Producer of 'MERAH PUTIH ONE FOR ALL': If There Was Such Funding, It Could Screen on 400 Screens!

Amidst the heated discussions regarding the animated film MERAH PUTIH ONE FOR ALL, rumors have emerged about a production budget reaching a fantastic figure of Rp6.7 billion.

This issue quickly spread and became one of the main topics of public criticism. However, Endiarto, as the executive producer of the film, strongly denied the news and called it untrue. Here are the details.

Endiarto firmly stated that if he had such funds, the fate of his film would certainly be very different, especially in terms of the number of screens in cinemas. He provided a stark contrast between the circulating issue and the bitter reality he faces.

"If there is (funds of Rp6.7 billion), I won't, today we can screen on 400 screens," explained Endiarto when met in the Kuningan area, South Jakarta, Tuesday (12/8/2025).

Endiarto then revealed one of the biggest expenditures that cannot be negotiated in his collaborative project. According to him, the costs for the Digital Cinema Package (DCP) and printing posters are two things that must be paid in cash and cannot be compromised.

"Yes, of course. The biggest cost for us that cannot be paid with a thank you, right? DCP and posters. Printed posters, DCP to the vendor for the cinema. That cannot be, we cannot," he explained.

He even claimed to have tried to offer collaboration to the vendor, but his efforts were unsuccessful. This reality ultimately limits the number of screens that can be reached by the film MERAH PUTIH ONE FOR ALL. "If I try to offer, 'Would you like to collaborate with us, that will be taken into account,' of course they wouldn't want to. Well, that's what we have to pay," he added.

Due to the limited funds, this film could only be shown on 16 screens on its first day of release. This number is far from expectations, considering the high demand from various cinema networks across Indonesia.

"Why are we only on 16 screens today? Even though the demand is high. CGV, Cineplex, Cinépolis, Flix, those independents are asking for many, but we can't afford it," Endiarto concluded.
