From Podcast to the Big Screen, Check Out the Synopsis of 'DO YOU SEE WHAT I SEE' Starring Shenina Cinnamon and Yesaya Abraham

Horror films are one of the most popular genres among Indonesian society. With such great opportunities and potential, MD Pictures has once again released a new horror film. This time, MD Pictures adapted a horror story from the podcast 'DO YOU SEE WHAT I SEE'.

As a producer, Manoj Punjabi revealed that they chose to adopt the podcast to maintain the quality standards of horror films. Furthermore, he expressed that the horror story from the podcast feels different and unpredictable. They then decided to collaborate with the team behind the 'DO YOU SEE WHAT I SEE' podcast.

Soon to be released in cinemas, MD Pictures has been promoting and releasing posters on their official social media accounts since October 26, 2023. Being adapted from a popular podcast, the film naturally attracts attention. Not to mention the involvement of famous actors and actresses, making 'DO YOU SEE WHAT I SEE' even more anticipated.

1. Synopsis DO YOU SEE WHAT I SEE

Adapted from the podcast of the same name, DO YOU SEE WHAT I SEE adapts episode 64 titled First Love. The story begins when Vey becomes a student at a state university. Deciding to live in a boarding house for easier mobility, Vey meets and stays with Mawar.

One day, Mawar reveals that she already has a boyfriend named Restu. Restu is Mawar's first love. Gradually, Vey becomes suspicious as Restu always visits Mawar at half past eleven at night. How surprised Vey is when she finds out that Restu is actually not a human, but a ghost.

After not hearing from her friend for a long time, Vey suddenly receives a message from Mawar's younger sister named Melati. Melati informs her that their family died under mysterious circumstances and her sister became one of the victims. What really happened to Mawar's family?

2. Actor Actress Cast

DO YOU SEE WHAT I SEE stars a number of famous Indonesian actors and actresses. The main character, Vey, will be played by actress Shenina Cinnamon. Interestingly, the actress, whose popularity skyrocketed thanks to PENYALIN CAHAYA, was scared when reading the script. However, Shenina still took on the role of Vey to challenge herself.

Then, there is Yesaya Abraham who plays the character Alex. Unlike in the podcast version, Restu in the film DO YOU SEE WHAT I SEE is renamed Alex. Despite playing a ghost, Yesaya is just as scared as Shenina Cinnamon.

In addition to Shenina and Yesaya, DO YOU SEE WHAT I SEE also features Diandra Agatha in the role of Mawar. Then there is Sonia Alyssa as Kartika, Sarah Felicia as Lina, Jessica Shaina as Dona, and Ratu Rafa as Melati.

3. Shooting Completed

The shooting process of the film DO YOU SEE WHAT I SEE has been completed since July 2023. MD Pictures, the production house, has also held a press conference and celebration in June last year. However, there is no official release date for this film in theaters yet.
