Good News! 'Si Doel Anak Jakarta' Will Be Adapted into a Web Series

The story of Si Doel has been adapted into a soap opera and a feature film, all of which have received a very positive response from the public.

Now, the story of Si Doel Anak Jakarta will be adapted into a web series which is planned to be released in 2022. This time, the focus of the story will be more on promoting the message of tolerance through the social righteousness of the Betawi children.

According to Film Practitioner Aditya Yusma Perdana, it is only fitting that the classic literary work by Aman Datuk Madjoindo is preserved. In addition to bringing many positive aspects, the story of Si Doel is also expected to break the long-standing stereotypes attached to the Betawi community, where they are considered to be lacking in education and economic capability.

"Si Doel Anak Jakarta is able to change that stigma precisely because of his intelligence in reciting the Quran and his moral character. His social righteousness has made him successful in his life, career, and love," said Aditya.

Meanwhile, the Head of the National Counterterrorism Agency (BNPT), Commissioner General Boy Rafli Amar, revealed that if the original work of his grandfather is adapted into a web series, it must be based on the spirit of national development, which includes entertaining and contributing thoughts.

"Certainly, it has been highlighted that there is a connection in building morals, the spirit of tolerance, nationalism, and this should be given attention," said Boy Rafli Amar.

Boy emphasized that BNPT fully supports the idea of releasing the web series Si Doel Anak Jakarta. He hopes that this work from his late grandfather can serve as a motivation for tolerance for the public.

"The character of Si Doel Anak Jakarta, who is tolerant and also learns about religion, aims to have good morals and a bright future. This is what we want to convey to the public," he explained.

"So we want the public to follow the best practices that have been shown through the thoughts of Si Doel. Of course, with a film, people will find it easier to see and understand the message. But there is an element of entertainment, so it educates the public. Actually, that is the hope of BNPT," he concluded.
