Kapanlagi.com - Lokadrama LARA ATI 2 has received an award from Vidio for successfully reaching 10 million viewers. This 20-episode series, created by Bayu Skak, is a local drama work in the first regional language to achieve this achievement.
LARA ATI 2 has been airing on Vidio for free since its premiere on July 3, 2023. This series presents a unique theme, namely a lokadrama that is close to the daily lives of local Indonesian communities.
This series is predominantly in the regional language. LARA ATI 2 can be considered a new presentation as it showcases the use of the Javanese language as a local production. Bayu Skak created it with the authentic landscape of East Java, especially Surabaya.
During the press conference for the LARA ATI 2 award ceremony in Jakarta (11/10/23) as the first lokadrama to reach 10 million viewers on Vidio, Bayu Skak revealed that using the Javanese language was more enjoyable with the filming location in Surabaya. "In terms of language, I insisted on using Javanese. Because it would be more authentic, and filming in Surabaya makes Javanese language more enjoyable."

A man named Bayu Eko Moektito, known as a comedian and singer, has also carved his expertise in the film industry. Previously, Bayu Skak achieved success through YOWIS BEN which was collaborated with Fajar Nugros.
In LARA ATI, Bayu Skak recruited a number of casting participants who mastered the local language, especially the Javanese dialect.
"There is a large-scale casting in Surabaya that indeed provides opportunities for new actors who also attended here," said the 30-year-old man.
"So when they participate in the casting and dare to show off, yes, we win and we immediately give them the opportunity to become lead actors," continued Bayu Skak.

LARA ATI presents the use of local language, which apparently becomes its own attraction in this show. Therefore, the production process of this show addresses the common concerns felt by the community in that area.
"Because we set the location of this drama series LARA ATI in Surabaya, we wanted to find out what the concerns of the Surabaya community are. Most of our talents are also Surabaya artists, so discussing with them was very helpful," explained Nona Ica, the scriptwriter of LARA ATI 2.

With the great success achieved through the LARA ATI 2 show because it reached 10 million viewers on Vidio, Bayu Skak, who played a big role in the work, apparently has prepared other titles. Not only continuing LARA ATI 2, but there will also be new titles in other regional languages.
"For the next one, we have prepared other new titles, different locadramas. And also for this LARA ATI, we have also prepared," he said.
"Maybe in the next one, we will combine (languages) more," Bayu Skak concluded.
