Long Journey of 'THE SCIENCE OF FICTIONS' Screening in Indonesian Cinemas, Additional Screens on the Second Day!

Kapanlagi.com - The film THE SCIENCE OF FICTIONS (or HIRUK PIKUK SI ALKISAH) finally screened in Indonesian cinemas after traveling around the world festival circuit. Yosep Anggi Noen, the director and screenplay writer, expressed his happiness and relief. He also hopes that the film will have a long lifespan.

"This film is about someone who walks slowly, so the film itself is slow until it reaches the audience (in Indonesia). It means it also takes a while to leave the cinemas. We have to think optimistically. This will be a film with a long breath," said Anggi in a press conference via Zoom on Friday (11/12/2020).

1. Want to Cry

The film starring Gunawan Maryanto, Asmara Abigail, and Lukman Sardi will be screened starting Thursday, December 10th. Yosep Anggi Noen had the chance to watch the film in the cinema and admitted that he almost cried watching his latest work on the screen. Especially since the cinemas have been closed for months due to the Large-Scale Social Restrictions (PSBB).

"Yesterday, I was so happy to be able to watch my own film in the cinema. It was touching, like I wanted to burst into tears, but I didn't. There's a sense of pride, relief, and great hope because the film industry will advance with the audience returning to the cinema," explained the director from Yogyakarta.

2. Additional Screens

Yulia Evina Bhara, the producer, revealed that on the second day of screening, the film THE SCIENCE OF FICTIONS received additional screens, which means that this film is highly sought after by the audience.

"Initially, there were 37 screens on the first day, and an additional 19 screens on the second day. Hopefully, this is a good day for Indonesian audiences to return to the cinema while maintaining health protocols," said Yulia in the same session.

THE SCIENCE OF FICTIONS tells the story of Siman (played by Gunawan Maryanto) who witnesses the shooting of astronauts landing on the moon. Because of that, his tongue is cut off to prevent him from leaking what he saw. For decades, Siman moves slowly like an astronaut to prove what many people consider crazy.
