Not your ordinary horror, Marthino describes this film as telling the story of a married couple struggling against economic hardship. Because of this, they perform a mystical ritual to address their problems.

"Blood Sacrifice tells the story of a guy named Jefri and a girl named Ella, they are a family who struggles to face the horrors of the world. A relatable or reasonable horror, you know. Let's say we live in an area that is no longer livable, you know. Due to economic needs, for one reason or another, to be close to the office, renting or living in a place that is quite bronx (slummy)," said Marthino Lio.

"That is also horror for us, right? Now, this wants to show the horror side from that perspective as well. From a humanitarian aspect, like for example we have an ATM, we put our card into the ATM, enter the pin, and then we see that there's nothing in it. That is also horror, right?" he continued.

Nevertheless, the original horror touch with a number of supernatural creature appearances also becomes an inseparable main part of this film.

"Horror, this is also horror, you know. So it's more on that side, and of course, there will definitely be entities, there are negative or mystical touches," he said.

In line with Marthino Lio, Sallum Key stated that the 'horror' presented in this film is more about daily life that is struggling economically during the pandemic.

"It seems the same, the main points have been explained by Kak Lio. Yes, the horror that is truly horror has its mysticism too, but what makes it more horrifying is our life," replied Sallum Key.

"Adding to the COVID condition, it makes us even more depressed. Well, that's the real horror of life, which is to be portrayed in the film Tumbal Darah. Besides being mystical, there’s also action, yes. We also have action," said Sallum Key.
