Not Just Funny, Kemal Palevi Promises Oki Rengga Will Be Romantic and Tearful in 'JADI TUH BARANG'

The Indonesian film industry is once again enlivened by the presence of a new comedy work from the production house E Komik Film titled JADI TUH BARANG (JTB). This film, directed and produced by Kemal Palevi, is set to be released in cinemas across the country starting September 18, 2025.

This film features Oki Rengga in a performance that is very different from his previous roles. JADI TUH BARANG tells a story that is very relevant to the lives of many young people today, especially students from afar who are struggling in a big city.

According to Kemal Palevi, the idea for this story was born from the anxiety about the difficulty of finding a job after graduation. He further explained the inspiration behind the making of this film.

"The point is that most of us make films based on our anxieties, and our anxiety is that finding a job is difficult. That's what is happening in our country. That becomes the inspiration, friendships of those who just graduated and moved to Jakarta, but turned into a comedy film," said Kemal Palevi at Cinepolis Senayan PARK, Jakarta, Saturday (2/8/2025).

Playing the role of Bonar, a young man of Sumatra descent, Oki will act alongside the beautiful actress Beby Tsabina who plays Cantika. For the comedian, building chemistry with his co-star is a challenge in itself, especially since he admitted to feeling awkward at first. However, Oki has his own way of lightening the atmosphere.

Although the three of them feel skeptical about the job that has a mystical aura, economic pressure leaves them with no other choice. The adventure of Bonar, Awang, and Wongso as rain masters becomes the main source of humor in the film, while also showcasing the strength of their friendship in facing life's difficulties in the capital.
