Oki Rengga Reveals There Is a New Burden in 'AGAK LAEN: MENYALA PANTIKU'

In the film AGAK LAEN, the drama is primarily focused on the character Oki Rengga. However, in the sequel, AGAK LAEN: MENYALA PANTIKU, it will be Boris Bokir's turn to become the center of emotional conflict.

This shift in dramatic focus was directly revealed by Oki Rengga at a press conference in South Jakarta on Friday (7/11/2025). According to him, the character Boris will have a more complex and deeper storyline in this second film.

"In the first one, the dramatic burden was mostly on me, maybe in the second one we will shift it to Boris," said Oki Rengga.

Bene Dion also agrees with this. He explained that from the existing script, there is indeed a main subplot that will center around the personal life of the character Boris.

"The audience will be able to see the layers of complexity in Boris. It's in this second film," added Bene. "The director seems to have focused the story on Boris. The plot is roughly like that," continued Oki.

This change certainly poses a new challenge for Boris Bokir, who in the first film played more of a role as a source of laughter. Now, he must be ready to show his more dramatic acting side.

Indra Jegel also did not miss the opportunity to give his characteristic comment. According to him, Boris, who now has to cry in the film, is a strange sight, because in real life he is known as a cheerful person. "It's scary, you see in the scary dialogue. But it turns out it's already scary, ugly. Scary. Although reality might be scarier," joked Jegel, making everyone in the room laugh.
