'POISON OF THE BRIDGE: HOUSEHOLD SEPARATION SORCERY' Presents Terror of Bewitchment that Shakes, Official Trailer Sends Chills

Andi, played by Fahad Haydra, and Maya, played by Frederika Cull, face a terrifying threat from sorcery that not only tests their relationship but also threatens their lives. The story in this film combines horror elements with the rarely addressed body horror genre in Indonesian films.

Maya, who is pregnant, has to witness the terrifying changes that Andi experiences as his body begins to suffer severely, hallucinating, and endangering himself due to the effects of witchcraft. This film is an interesting collaboration between producer Sunil Soraya and renowned director Rizal Mantovani, who previously succeeded with iconic films like 5 CM and EIFFEL I'M IN LOVE 2.

Sunil Soraya explains that this film attempts to present horror from the perspective of a true story about a couple affected by separation witchcraft, known as the poison sangga from Kalimantan. The story of this film is adapted from a phenomenal thread on X/Twitter written by @gustigina, which tells the tale of a newly married couple who must endure the terror of magic for revenge.

With a realistic background, this film presents the dark side of love accompanied by cruelty, making it a different horror offering. In this film, the couple Andi and Maya got married on February 12, 2021, after a taaruf process.

However, after they moved into their new house, they began to experience strange things. Andi suffers from nightmares, coughing up blood, and even cannot walk, while Maya has to take care of her husband while she is pregnant.

Fahad Haydra, who plays Andi, shares the challenges he faced in his role. “To achieve a realistic effect, special makeup effects were applied to my body. All scenes were done without a stuntman because I wanted to truly feel Andi's suffering,” he said.

Meanwhile, Director Rizal Mantovani stated, “Poisoned witchcraft is a separating witchcraft, where the effect will not stop until the husband and wife are truly separated. In this film, I want to depict the cruelty of revenge through destructive mystical terror.”

Sunil Soraya also revealed that his collaboration with Rizal Mantovani in this film is a new step in the Indonesian horror genre, presenting a fresh yet chilling horror experience. “We want to show the dark side of humanity through witchcraft that is not only frightening but also touches the emotions of the audience,” he concluded.
