The Court States That Rizky Febian and Mahalini's Marriage Can Be Annulled If It Does Not Meet Requirements

Kapanlagi.com - The application process for the marriage verification of celebrity couple Rizky Febian and Mahalini Raharja is still ongoing at the South Jakarta Religious Court. Although they have been married according to religious rites, this application will not automatically be approved by the court.

The spokesperson for the South Jakarta Religious Court, Suryana, explained that there are several important stages in this verification process, including the verification of the marriage's validity according to religion.

"During the trial, it will first be proven whether or not they have met the requirements of the pillars of marriage in Islam. If they do not meet the requirements and pillars of marriage, then it cannot be validated," said Suryana at his office on Monday (11/11/2024).

The court has the authority to annul this marriage if any religious requirements are not met. “It can be annulled if the requirements are not fulfilled. The law clearly states what the requirements of marriage are. An example of not meeting the requirements is if the guardian is not the rightful guardian to perform the marriage, then the marriage is certainly invalid," Suryana explained.

If the marriage is declared invalid, then Rizky and Mahalini will be required to repeat the marriage vows from the beginning. "If the marriage is not valid, they automatically have to remarry. That is if they want to maintain their marriage, and if it is annulled by the court," he added.

1. Explore Marriage Certificate

In addition, the court will also trace the existence of the marriage certificate that they had shown to the public after the marriage ceremony in May.

"If there is indeed a marriage certificate, why is there a marriage certificate but now it is being submitted for marriage validation? It will be examined by the court," Suryana explained.

It is known that Rizky Febian and Mahalini were married religiously on May 10, 2024, with the ceremony held at a hotel in the Setiabudi area, South Jakarta. This happy moment was captured in a photo of the couple showing their marriage certificate.

However, shocking facts emerged on October 30, 2024, when the South Jakarta Religious Court revealed that their marriage had not been registered at the Office of Religious Affairs (KUA). This became the reason for the couple to submit a request for marriage validation on October 10, 2024.

2. Hearing Postponed

The initial hearing for their marriage validation has been scheduled for November 4, 2024. However, the hearing had to be postponed because Rizky and Mahalini were absent and were only represented by their legal counsel.

The South Jakarta Religious Court is now rescheduling the validation hearing for November 18, 2024. At the upcoming hearing, both are required to attend to respond to the summons and complete the necessary documents for the validation verification process.
