Polri Prohibits Shooting Activities During the Covid-19 Pandemic, There are Strict Measures for Violators

The Indonesian National Police Headquarters (Mabes Polri) recently issued instructions to ban shooting activities for all production houses in the country during the coronavirus pandemic. This was confirmed by the Head of Public Relations Division of the Indonesian National Police, Brigadier General Raden Prabowo Argo Yuwono.

"Yes (it's true)," said Argo in a short message to Liputan6.com, on Friday (27/3/2020).

1. Prohibition Applies Until Undetermined Time

The letter was issued on Thursday (26/3) yesterday. It stated that in accordance with the directive of the Chief of Police, General Idham Azis, in supporting the government in handling the spread of the coronavirus, all Production Houses must stop and postpone filming activities for films and soap operas.

The prohibition is in effect until an undetermined time due to health and safety reasons. As is known, filming activities involve many people in one location.

2. Strict Action Against Violators

Certainly, if there are still those who violate the prohibition, the police will take strict action. Meanwhile, there has been no response from the respective Production Houses regarding this regulation.

"If there are still film or soap opera shooting activities involving a large number of people (crew or cast), strict and measured actions will be taken in accordance with applicable laws," stated a quote from the circular letter.
