Portraying an Annoying Character, Sitha Marino Nervously Faces Meriam Bellina

Young actress Sitha Marino had an unforgettable experience while involved in the film FAMILY HUSBAND IS A PEST. In this project, Bastian Steel's girlfriend played a blunt character that tends to be annoying in family dynamics.

Sitha's biggest challenge arose when she had to act alongside the legendary senior actress Meriam Bellina. She admitted to feeling overwhelmed with doubt because she had to perform boldly and 'impudently' in front of her idol as required by the script.

"At first, honestly, I was scared. I was really scared of what was there... because I honestly have never played a character like that, the antagonist, yes the antagonist," said Sitha when met in the Fatmawati area, South Jakarta, Friday (24/4/2026).

The feeling of nervousness became even more intense because Sitha is a huge fan of Meriam Bellina. She admitted to being captivated by the beauty and charisma of the actress since the first time they met on set.

The fear of making mistakes or mispronouncing words loomed over the shooting process. However, the rare opportunity to work with someone she admires made Sitha not want to waste that chance.

"I’m such a fan! Honestly, I was really scared during the shoot because I was worried I would stumble over my words. Because I was acting with Aunt Mer, right? What if I stuttered in front of Aunt Mer? But I felt so starstruck seeing her; she is so beautiful," she expressed.

To delve into the annoying character, Sitha conducted simple research by observing the behavior of people around her who were considered irritating, and then adapted it into the role she played.

Interestingly, even though this film highlights the dark side of marriage, Sitha has become increasingly confident about taking a more serious step in real life. She even mentioned that her confidence level to get married increased after going through the filming process.

"For getting married, my confidence is now 80%! It used to be 70%, now it's 80%. In fact, it's because of this film that it became 80%," she said while laughing.

This film directed by Anggy Umbara presents an emotional drama with conflicts that are close to everyday life. Sitha Marino's performance as the disruptor in her sister's household is one to look forward to.
