'PUANG BOS': A Family Drama Full of Love and Comedy, Highlighting the Pinisi Boat Culture from South Sulawesi

The story in this film centers around the relationship between Dewa Rucci, played by Ibrahim Risyad, and his father, Puang Sinar, portrayed by senior actor Pritt Timothy. This father-son love story is spiced up with the ups and downs of Dewa's romantic relationship with Pertiwi, played by Michelle Ziudith. Family conflict, love, and comedy create a perfect blend that captivates.

Additionally, Puang Bos becomes even more interesting with the presence of Makassar comedian, Arif Brata, who strengthens the comedic elements in this film. Not only that, young artists like Zoe Levana and Cahya Arynagara also add intensity to the story, bringing fresh dynamics and surprises.

“The large Pinisi boat takes seven years to build and is originally from Bulukumba. I hope it can have a positive direct impact on the area where the boat is made,” added Meggy.

The production process of Puang Bos, which began on February 5, 2024, faced various challenges, including the actual construction of the Pinisi ship. However, these challenges were successfully overcome, providing authenticity and depth to the story of this film. The collaboration between renowned actors and local talents also strengthens the film's appeal.

In addition to the main cast, the film is also supported by comedian Mongol Stres, as well as local actors such as Abdul Rodjak, Zulfadhilah, Zulfadhini, and Alfi Rafael Karim. Their collaboration ensures that Puang Bos remains faithful to the originality of the story of Pinisi shipbuilders from Bulukumba, bringing an authentic atmosphere that is rarely found in Indonesian films.

Directed by Adink Liwutang and produced by Leni Lolang, Puang Bos is scheduled to be released in theaters starting November 14, 2024. This film is expected to be an emotional and quality entertainment experience for audiences from various backgrounds.
