Produced by Screenplay Films, Red Zone features talented actors from various generations. Get ready, KLovers, because a lineup of actors such as Aghniny Haque, Andri Mashadi, Lukman Sardi, Devano Danendra, Maria Theodore, Ruth Marini, and Ratna Riantiarno will accompany you in exploring a thrilling apocalyptic world.
Director Sidharta Tata, who has a wealth of experience in the action and horror genres, admits that Red Zone is a special project for him. “This is a new leap in my creativity as a director and writer. Together with Fajar Martha Santosa and the team from Penakawan, we are uniting a story inspired by true events about the organized crime of an elite group, then combining it with urban legends,” Sidharta Tata revealed.
He also added that this series will offer a new experience with a more complex and chilling thriller genre. “If usually I work on action or horror genres, this time I am combining them into a deeper and scarier thriller with the emergence of 'living corpses',” he added.

Well, KLovers, you must be curious why it's called mayit and not zombie. Fajar Martha Santosa, the co-director with Sidharta, explains that the concept of mayit is inspired by local context. “We like to incorporate elements that are close to our culture. So, instead of using the term zombie, we chose the term mayit which is more familiar to the ears of the Indonesian people,” Fajar explained.
Even more interesting, the appearance of these mayit is related to the myth of Ghost Cup or corpse flower, which in the beliefs of certain communities is considered a source of all disasters. In each episode, viewers will be invited to explore the origins of these mayit, the new threats they bring, and how the characters in the story struggle to survive amidst increasingly terrifying terror.
So, for those of you who are curious, mark the date! Red Zone is scheduled to air starting November 8, 2024, exclusively on Vidio. Don't miss it, KLovers! (ded/jpnn)
