Releasing December 25, Falcon Pictures Announces Sequel to 'MIRACLE IN CELL NO. 7' in Busan

Kapanlagi.com - Falcon Pictures, together with the Korean studio, Contents Panda (NEW), has just announced the sequel to the successful remake of MIRACLE IN CELL NO. 7 at the Asian Contents and Film Market (ACFM) in Busan, South Korea. At the event, they introduced the teaser for the sequel film titled 2nd Miracle In Cell No. 7.

The original MIRACLE IN CELL NO. 7 from Korea is a touching story about a man with a mental disability who is imprisoned on charges of a murder he did not commit. In an effort to meet his daughter, he seeks help from fellow inmates to smuggle his child into the prison.

This story is so heartwarming and has been remade in various countries, including Turkey, the Philippines, and Indonesia, where the film achieved great success at the box office. The Indonesian version sequel will continue the story of the daughter and will still star Graciella Abigail.

The film is directed by Herwin Novianto, known for the film KANG MAK FROM PEE MAK, which attracted over 4.8 million viewers. The screenplay is written by Alim Sudio. Fans can look forward to this film which will be released in theaters on December 25, 2024.

1. Welcomed with Enthusiasm

According to HB Naveen, Executive Producer of Falcon Pictures, the story of MIRACLE IN CELL NO. 7 needs to be continued due to the great enthusiasm from Indonesian audiences.

"We feel that the ending of the first film is not completely resolved. After the father's death, we want to explore deeper into the life of the little girl who lost her father. The audience's reaction was very emotional, so we feel the need to continue the story," he expressed.

2. Record-Breaking Original Version

The original version of MIRACLE IN CELL NO. 7 broke records in Korea with 12.8 million viewers in 2013, making it a highly worthy film to be remade in various countries.

"The success of this film in Korea makes it a suitable choice for producers, and we are happy to see how this story continues to resonate globally," said Danny Lee.

In 2ND MIRACLE IN CELL NO. 7, the film will star several prominent Indonesian actors and actresses, such as Vino G Bastian, Marsha Timothy, Graciella Abigail, Indro Warkop, Tora Sudiro, Rigen Rakelna, Indra Jegel, and Bryan Domani.
