Raising the Phenomenon of Unemployment, 'THE SEEKERS OF GOD' Volume 18 Ready to Air on SCTV During Ramadan - Featuring Several New Faces

The soap opera THE SEEKERS OF GOD (PPT) returns during Ramadan 2025 with a new theme relevant to the conditions of Indonesian society. Entering its 18th volume, this soap opera raises the phenomenon of unemployment in the country with the title 'Temporary World, Dude'. Here are the details!

As in previous years, PPT will air every day during Ramadan on SCTV at 02:35 WIB. The series still stars Deddy Mizwar as Bang Jack, Jarwo Kwat as Pak Jalal, as well as Udin Nganga and Asrul Dahlan each playing Udin and Asrul. Several new faces will also join, such as Sandy Pradana, Naimma Aljuri, and Cindy Nirmala.

As a soap opera that is identical to the month of Ramadan, the presence of PPT volume 18 is well welcomed by SCTV. Banardi Rachmad, Deputy Director Programming of SCTV, revealed that this soap opera always presents stories that are close to the lives of the community.

"PPT is identical with Ramadan and thank God we can showcase it. As Bu Haji said until 2 AM, that is her dedication. We always get awards. But what’s interesting is that PPT can always capture existing phenomena," Banardi said at SCTV Tower, Tuesday (11/2/2025).

"If previously it was about debt, about punk kids, about the elderly, this year is extraordinary. Where demographic bonuses are potential, but if not balanced with job opportunities it will become a danger. Well, PPT always has the solution," he added.

As a producer of PPT, Deddy Mizwar emphasizes that this soap opera is made with a different approach than usual soap operas. "I appreciate all the supporters and crew who have given their best. I am amazed after seeing the results. For several years we have seen that the show should be related to its audience," said Deddy Mizwar.

"There are two things that make the audience want to watch. First, there is communication between the show and the audience. Second, there is something new to learn. Well, we take the first one, taking the phenomenon that occurs in society. This time it’s about unemployment," added Deddy.

The theme of unemployment was chosen because it is considered an important and real issue in society today.

"We take the phenomenon of unemployment, and it has now happened. Now workers are contracted for a certain period of time. What is this a symptom of? With this show, hopefully, it can serve as a warning for how things should be in the future. How to prepare oneself to be resilient. We are trying to highlight the phenomenon in society through film. That’s why it’s called PPT, not a soap opera," he said.

Deddy also highlighted the challenging production process of PPT that requires hard work from the entire production team.

"That’s why I thank my wife, who has believed in me. Sometimes I come home at 2 AM, sometimes before dawn, sometimes after the sun rises. Am I great? No. But because of hard work. Because hard work does not betray results," he concluded.
