Review Movieverse: AIU-EO Just Like Betool!, Presents a Thick Romantic Comedy with a Medan Flavor

Kapanlagi.com - A film set against a cultural backdrop, with the distinct dialect and gestures of children from Medan, is once again enlivening Indonesian cinema. This time, the atmosphere is presented through the romantic comedy AIU-EO Macam Betool Aja! starring Michelle Ziudith, Oki Rengga, Lolox, and Andri Mashadi.

The film tells the story of three friends from Medan, Alung, Igor, and Ujay, who boldly start an Event Organizer service named AIU-EO, an acronym of their names. An opportunity to handle a major wedding project, which should have been a path to success, instead turns into the beginning of problems. Conflict arises when the bride-to-be named Sofia, an old friend of Igor, asks for their help to sabotage her wedding to Udin.

The film AIU-EO MACAM BETOOL AJA!, set against iconic locations in North Sumatra, not only highlights the dialect and humor typical of Medan but also introduces elements from other cultures such as Malay, Chinese, Indian, and Batak. The film was warmly welcomed by Indonesian film enthusiasts, including 30 Movieverse members who attended the Gala Premiere held at Epicentrum XXI on Wednesday (28/1). The atmosphere was so festive with bright color decorations, combined with a grey-themed dress code worn by the main stars present, which looked very fitting.

The invited guests who attended and watched the premiere of the film directed by Etiene Caesar couldn't stop laughing due to the hilarious performances of the cast, whose acting is beyond doubt, and the natural delivery of the dialogues. Many positive comments were given by movieverse members for the film that will officially premiere on February 12, 2026.

Wrapped in romantic comedy, light yet entertaining love conflicts, and business dilemmas. The fresh Medan-style comedy adds a different color to Indonesian cinema. There are strong elements of local culture from Medan through dialect, gestures, and shooting locations.
