Building chemistry as a family in front of the camera is certainly not an easy task. However, for the cast of the film DAD, WHERE IS THIS GOING, HUH?, the process turned out to be very exciting, especially thanks to the role of Rey Bong, who is referred to as the 'glue'.

Mawar de Jongh, who plays the older sister, Dira, revealed that Rey Bong is the one who successfully lightens the atmosphere among the cast. Here are the details.

"We said she's the glue in this family relationship, yes," said Mawar de Jongh when met in the Menteng area, Central Jakarta, on Tuesday (24/03/2026).

In response to this, Rey Bong shared an interesting story behind the scenes. He admitted that he had to 'go crazy' at the beginning of the reading process to get close to Mawar de Jongh, whom he considered quite introverted during their first meeting.

"On the first day of our prep, we were reading and indeed Ms. Mawar was just... like that, right? Then I was like, for an hour or two, I can't deal with this person, is she just going to nod along?" recalled Rey Bong in his joking style.

This talented young actor eventually decided to be more proactive. He threw many jokes and acted silly to break the silence and create a more natural familial atmosphere.

"In the end, I had to go all out in the reading room, so I just sat on the floor under my seat while the others were reading, I laid back on the sofa to explore the character of Darin, so that the lady would get used to her rebellious younger brother," he said.

His efforts were not in vain. The closeness that developed among the cast, including Dwi Sasono and Unique Priscilla, ultimately shone brightly on screen.

Meanwhile, Rey Bong will play the character Darin, a teenager who is in the phase of searching for identity and tends to be rebellious, a character he describes as very different from himself in real life.
