'SUSAH SINYAL' Played Without Permission at Meikarta Drive In Cinema, Producer Chand Parwez Angry

Kapanlagi.com - Meikarta made a breakthrough to satisfy people's longing for watching movies during the Covid-19 pandemic. They organized an event called Meikarta Drive In Cinema at Sky Parking District 1 from May 30th to June 30th, 2020.

Unfortunately, this event has angered the well-known producer from Starvision production house, Chand Parwez. The movie SUSAH SINYAL directed by Ernest Prakasa was played without permission.

"I just received this news and I didn't expect such a big company to do such an unethical act. At a time when the Indonesian film industry is struggling, instead of helping, they are doing something unethical. There should be strict action from the government to prevent this from happening again," said Parwez as quoted from the Whatsapp message received by KapanLagi.com on Wednesday (3/6/2020).

1. Give Summons

Besides POOR SIGNAL, there are films from different production houses that are also played without permission such as DILAN and SI DOEL THE MOVIE. Along with other producers, Chand Parwez will take legal action starting from giving summons.

"We already have evidence in the form of video recordings, and they also advertise the films that will be aired. We will give warnings, summons, and if they are not responded to, we will take legal action," he added.

2. As Long As It Follows the Procedure

Actually, Chand Parwez will not mind if someone plays the films he produces, especially since Drive In Cinema format is a novelty in the industry. As long as everything is done correctly by asking for permission first.

"We welcome any form, whether it's drive-thru or film exhibition as long as everything is done according to the correct procedure. We can cooperate and work with anyone as long as it follows the procedure," concluded Parwez.
