"Why 145 minutes? I myself have said, the length of the film doesn't matter. This film is long because I want to tell more than just about two protagonists, I think it's very important for the world of a film to feel 'all these characters are breathing'. I think as a filmmaker who prioritizes character development, for me that's something worth it, in that 145 minutes," Timo explained at the press conference held at Epicentrum XXI Jakarta, on Tuesday, October 15, 2024.

Timo also appreciates the actors who are involved in an action film for the first time, including Aurora Ribero who plays Agent 13. With preparations that included extensive and intense physical training, as well as choreography for fight scenes. In addition to Aurora, THE SHADOW STRAYS also features several actors such as Hana Malasan, Ali Fikry, Adipati Dolken, Kristo Immanuel, Andri Mashadi, Taskya Namya, Agra Piliang, and Daniel Ekaputra.

"For example, the emotional character Soriah will look impressive with a shotgun, while Prasetyo, who intimidates with his connections and his troops, has a different style. Agent 13, who is still learning to be a killer, uses small weapons like knives, while Hana, the veteran killer, wields a terrifying katana. Each character has an additional layer that is shown through their weapons," Timo explained.
