Synopsis of 'DANDADAN', a New Anime that Combines Themes of Ghosts and Aliens - Said to be the Replacement for 'JUJUTSU KAISEN'

Kapanlagi.com - As October arrives, the lineup of fall 2024 anime has introduced a series of promising new titles. One of them is DANDADAN, a new anime that combines the worlds of ghosts and aliens.

Directed by Fuuga Yamashiro and with Hiroshi Seko as the screenwriter, this anime is touted to be the replacement for JUJUTSU KAISEN, which is surely familiar to anime fans.

Dandadan tells the story of two students who become involved in absurd matters surrounding aliens and ghosts. The story begins when Momo Ayase meets Ken "Okarun" Takakura. However, the two cannot get along during their introduction due to their conflicting beliefs about the existence of certain entities. Momo, who believes in ghosts because her grandmother is a spirit medium, is laughed at by Okarun, who denies the existence of such supernatural beings and instead believes in aliens.

As a means of proving their beliefs, Momo and Okarun decide to visit two locations that are believed to be the sites of their respective entities. While Momo goes to an abandoned hospital that is said to be a place where aliens appear, Okarun heads to a haunted tunnel. However, what happens is beyond their expectations, as the two entities they deny actually exist! From that moment on, Momo and Okarun begin to get involved in various strange phenomena they never imagined before.

The anime DANDADAN is adapted from the popular manga by Yukinobu Tatsu, which was published on April 6, 2021, and is still ongoing in Shonen Jump Shueisha. This manga has been read over 360 million times on the Shonen Jump platform.

This anime collaborates with 2 popular Japanese musicians to perform its theme song. Creepy Nuts will perform their song titled Otonoke as the opening of this anime. This duo is known for their song featured in the opening of the anime MASHLE: MAGIC AND MUSCLES.

Meanwhile, ZUTOMAYO will perform their song titled Taidada as the ending of the anime DANDADAN. This rock band previously performed a song titled Time Left for the ending of the anime CHAINSAW MAN.

5. Release Date
