Interestingly, the film BEBAS chose several iconic locations in Jakarta. "We were in the area around Blok M, in the area around Senen, and also in Menteng, in Bogor, and we went everywhere," Mira concluded.

Exploring several locations in Jakarta turned out to make Mira do something she had never done before while making a film. "So I haven't shot in Jakarta for more than 5 days in 17 years. Even if there is, it's only for two or three days like AADC, so it's only for a short time," explained the 54-year-old woman.

Moreover, with the 90s setting, it's certainly not easy to find the right places. "Especially when looking for 90s corners. Sometimes it can't be in one place because the rooftop looks good like the nineties, but the bottom is modern, so we have to look for another place. It's like that, he's really good at it," she added.

"For example, there is a description of teenage children walking from the parking lot passing through the shopping area to meet another group, for example. The progression of the journey alone can have 5 points, where they parked, where they crossed, where they climbed the stairs, it can be like that, so there are many points," said Mira.

As known, BEBAS is a remake of the original Korean film titled SUNNY. This film was made by Miles Film after the film distributor CJ Entertainment offered the film to be remade in the country.

According to Mira, this film uses a lot of locations. "A lot, almost every day except for school, the location changes. So there are a total of 30 locations, maybe. There is a scene of Vina's teenage house, there is a scene of Vina's big house, they are different," she explained on Thursday (18/4) afternoon.

The director, Riri Riza, according to Mira, has his own distinctive characteristic in determining specific sets of locations that need to be taken. This is also the reason why BEBAS requires many different shooting locations.
