Through the Horror Film 'DO YOU SEE WHAT I SEE', Director Awi Suryadi Deploys Creativity to Provide Different Entertainment

Kapanlagi.com - KKN DI DESA PENARI became the highest-grossing Indonesian film of all time with a total of ten million viewers. This fact makes the director, Awi Suryadi, always want to evolve in every new work.

Like in the film DO YOU SEE WHAT I SEE, Awi provides a treatment that has never been presented in his previous works. He admitted that he deployed all of his creativity to provide a different visual.

"Different from other films that have many locations, most of it is in one location. So I have to be more creative in the shooting. The shooting is different from previous films, even the grading is different," said Awi when met in Senayan, Central Jakarta, on Wednesday (8/15).

1. Wearing Character's Point of View

To provide various visually pleasing visuals, Awi Suryadi took many camera angles. Not only steady cam, but also body rig and helm rig to depict the character's perspective.

"This film uses several points of view and the actors have to move the camera," said Awi.

Shenina Cinnamon, one of the cast members, added, "We all feel the technical aspects in order to get the desired shots by Mr. Awi. We all use body rig and helm rig. And it's not easy, it's really difficult."

2. Reverse Working Hours

Furthermore, Shenina Cinnamon stated that during the filming of DO YOU SEE WHAT I SEE, her working hours were reversed. She filmed at night and rested in the morning.

"We filmed for twenty-two days, but it felt long because of the reversed working hours. We actually have a healthy schedule, never exceeding twelve hours. But because the hours are reversed, we shoot at night and sleep in the morning. It's just enjoyable because we're filming with people of the same age," Shenina concluded.
