Titi Kamal Once Felt Insecure Playing Alongside a Co-Star 13 Years Younger in the Film 'TABAYYUN', Turns Out They Are Distant Relatives

Actress and producer Titi Kamal is participating in the film TABAYYUN, which will be released in theaters starting May 8, 2025. In this film, Titi plays Zalina, a single mother who falls in love with a much younger man named Arlo, played by Ibrahim Risyad.

When met at Plaza Senayan, Central Jakarta, on Wednesday (April 30, 2025) night, Titi revealed that she felt insecure due to the age difference with her co-star. Titi admitted to questioning the producer's decision when she found out that Ibrahim Risyad was her partner in this film.

"I was like, Mr. Roni, is it true that my co-star is 13 years younger? How am I supposed to do this, I don't feel confident," said Titi Kamal. Here are the details.

She felt visually and emotionally mismatched due to the significant age gap. "Yeah, it doesn't match, but that's okay, it turns out Ibrahim is tall, 185 cm, and he has a mature demeanor, so we can meet in the middle," she added.

However, after the shooting process began, Titi's worries gradually faded. She felt she could emotionally connect with Ibrahim after spending a lot of time together. "Yeah, chatting with Ibrahim to get the chemistry, we just talked a lot," said Titi.

The closeness felt more natural after Titi discovered that they actually have a distant family connection. "We really connect, it turns out he is still related to me, so my aunt is connected to his uncle," Titi revealed.
