Disney Indonesia Presents Special Collaboration with Local Talents to Welcome the Arrival of Disney's Latest Film 'THE LITTLE MERMAID'

Who's excited for the latest Disney movie? This time, Disney Studios will present a live-action reimagining of Disney's classic animation titled 'THE LITTLE MERMAID', which tells the story of a beautiful and adventurous mermaid princess. Of course, you're curious about who will play the character of Ariel, the mermaid princess. Let's find out!

Ariel is the main character who will portray the youngest daughter of King Triton, who has a free spirit, is brave, and has a curious nature about the world above the sea. In the rules set by her father, a mermaid is forbidden to interact with humans.

But one day, Ariel broke her father's rules and visited the surface because she had saved a handsome man named Prince Eric and fell in love at first sight with his charming looks.

To fulfill her heart's desire, Ariel made a dishonest deal with the evil sea witch named Ursula to get a chance to live on land. But the deal put her life and her father's kingdom in danger.

To celebrate the release of Disney's latest film 'THE LITTLE MERMAID', Disney Indonesia collaborated with local talents to bring the story and characters in the film closer to fans in Indonesia. One of the collaborations was with Fashion Stylist Wanda Haraa and Underwater Photographer Martha Suherman, to do an underwater photoshoot with popular Indonesian celebrities.

In this photoshoot inspired by Disney's 'THE LITTLE MERMAID', Wanda Hara presented 14 fashion styles that will be worn by talented Indonesian celebrities such as Titi DJ, Naura Ayu, Shenina Cinnamon, Angga Yunanda, Rizky Nazar, Syifa Hadju, Caitlin Halderman, Rangga Azof, Sandrinna Michelle, Junior Roberts, and Frederika Alexis Cull.

This photoshoot was the first experience for the participating celebrities and also showcased Wanda Haraa's ability with underwater photography techniques. Before the photoshoot began, the celebrities were given guidance on diving techniques by a diver instructor to ensure a smooth process.

"This is my first experience as a fashion stylist to do an underwater photoshoot. At first, I was worried that the collaborators in this photoshoot couldn't dive. But it turned out that everyone was happy and even enjoyed diving," said Wanda Haraa.

"I'm very happy to collaborate with Disney Indonesia and Wanda Haraa to create a very challenging but fun photo project. We spent around 14 hours in the water to produce the best photos," added Martha Suherman.

The underwater photoshoot by Wanda Haraa and Martha Suherman can be enjoyed by fans in the 'Disney's THE LITTLE MERMAID Inspired Photo Exhibition' at Plaza Senayan Atrium starting from May 20, 2023.

'The Little Mermaid' is directed by Oscar-nominated Rob Marshall ('Chicago,' 'Mary Poppins Returns'), and the story is written by two-time Oscar nominee David Magee ('Life of Pi,' 'Finding Neverland'). The music is composed by Academy Award winner Alan Menken ('Beauty and the Beast,' 'Aladdin'), with lyrics by Howard Ashman and new lyrics by three-time Tony Award winner Lin-Manuel Miranda. The film is produced by two-time Emmy winner Marc Platt ('Jesus Christ Superstar Live in Concert,' 'Grease Live!'), Miranda, two-time Emmy winner John DeLuca ('Tony Bennett: An American Classic'), and Rob Marshall, with Jeffrey Silver ('The Lion King') as executive producer. 'The Little Mermaid' will be released in Indonesian cinemas on May 24, 2023.
