Interview with Tom Holland & Zendaya 'SPIDER-MAN NO WAY HOME': Sweetest Memories from Starring in 3 Films Together

Kapanlagi.com - Tom Holland and Zendaya have starred in three SPIDER-MAN films together. They both play Peter Parker (Holland) and Michelle aka MJ (Zendaya) Since HOMECOMING in 2017. At first, they were just friends in the same extracurricular activity, but in the second film FAR FROM HOME in 2019, the audience was presented with sparks of romance between them. Now, in the third film, Peter and MJ are depicted as being more intimate with each other, or in a relationship.

The chemistry between them has become the main attraction of this 'teen' superhero film. The dynamics of their relationship add flavor to the stage of self-discovery with the backdrop of the superhero world.

This third film is a new chapter for the character Peter Parker. Just as he was enjoying a romance with the girl he likes, he has to face a big and complicated problem. His identity is exposed by Mysterio and now he is being chased for the accusation of killing Mysterio.

As your companion in watching the film that was released in theaters on December 15th, here is our short interview with Tom Holland and Zendaya about NO WAY HOME. This interview took place in early December.

Q: Hi Tom and Zendaya, thank you for your time. We in Indonesia can't wait for the movie to be released.

Tom and Zendaya: Hi, you're welcome. Glad to chat here.

Tom: I truly love Indonesia. One of the beautiful countries I have ever visited. I can't wait to go back there.

Q: We are waiting for you in Bali again, Tom. Anyway, congratulations on the release of this new film. For the past year or so, NO WAY HOME has been trending on social media and the internet. There are fan theories, predictions, and memes. Is there any of them that caught your attention?

Tom: There are a lot, I even posted one of them some time ago. Someone posted "Me: Can I get free tickets?" and there's Tobey posing like this.

Zendaya: That's made by fans, right?

Tom: Yes, it's like showing an invitation to fight. I like how fans make noise and keep discussing about this movie. I also like how they get creative at home with what they have. They make their own version of the trailer.

Zen: I guess Spider-Man holds a lot because of that. This film belongs to the fans.

Q: From the trailer, we know that there will be five Spider-Man enemies appearing. Which enemy do you think will pose a greater challenge to the main characters?

Tom: That's a very good question. I feel like they all come with their own unique challenges. One aspect of the movie that I like is when fighting Doc Ock. I unleash my spider arms. So it's like Octopus fighting Octopus.

Zendaya: Arm against arm

Tom: It's really cool. But if I have to talk in great detail, it will be a spoiler for the movie. Hahaha.

Q: What about you, Zendaya?

Zendaya: Oh man, right now if I have to think about it, I think it's Mysterio.

Tom: Mysterio, he's really cunning. He's actually the main enemy in this movie.

Zendaya: He's the real enemy in this movie. He's the cause of all this happening. He makes everything chaotic.

Tom: I'm really amazed by Jake Gyllenhaal. He's really cool. I like him. But at the same time, I hate Mysterio. I'll call him in a bit.

Q: From starring in HOMECOMING to this movie, what is the sweetest gift you got from this Spider-Man movie?

Tom: Friendship. I have gained a friendship that I will cherish forever. Not only from the cast, where I am with you, Jacob, and Jake. Tony Revelory, Jon Watts, Amy Pascal, Kevin Fiege, Tom Rottsman, George Cartall, even my team who supported me in portraying Spiderman in five or six films. Spiderman becomes the heart of it. We call ourselves the Beehive. I don't know where it came from, but Beyonce calls her fans that. We feel like a real beehive. I don't know why, but for me, it's about friendship.  

Zendaya: Hmm, the biggest takeaway, huh? Personally or from the audience's perspective?

Tom: Let's talk personally. Tell people something that I don't know yet. Hahaha. 

Zendaya: I think I feel almost the same as Tom.

Tom: Is it about the money?

Zen: Hahaha. It's about the experience. I don't think everyone can fulfill their dreams with someone they love. I try to fulfill my dreams every day. And I can get memories like this.   

This is the first time I have ever felt like this. Feeling the swing with Spider-Man. And Spider-Man is someone.. Are you kidding? This is the best. And then I was 'pushed aside' by Jacob in that bridge scene? (when Peter called Ned and left MJ for a moment) This is the best. The best, definitely.
