'MORBIUS' Starring Jared Leto Once Again Delayed, Here's the Reason

Jared Leto will play an antihero named Michael Morbius, who tries to cure a rare blood disease, but instead becomes more familiar with the darkness within him. Directed by Daniel Espinosa, MORBIUS also stars Matt Smith, Adria Arjona, Jared Harris, Al Madrigal, and Tyrese Gibson.

For those of you who have been waiting for this film for the past 2 years, it seems like you have to be more patient because Sony has just postponed the release date of MORBIUS. So let's not waste any more time and find out the information here.

1. Not the First Time

This is not the first, second, or third time the release date of MORBIUS has been postponed. The film was originally scheduled to be released on July 10, 2020, but due to COVID-19, MORBIUS had to be postponed several times, starting from July 31, 2020, March 19, 2021, October 8, 2021, and finally moved to January 21, 2022, before being moved again to April 1.

Although there is no reason yet why this film has been delayed, Omicron, which potentially reduces the number of viewers, could be one of the reasons. In its new release date, MORBIUS will be facing EASTER SUNDAY, a comedy film starring Jimmy O. Yang and Tiffany Haddish, as well as the thriller film THE CONTRACTOR starring Chris Pine.

2. What about other films

Sony Pictures Entertainment is currently the studio that benefits the most from the return of viewers to cinemas. With two big films like SPIDER-MAN: NO WAY HOME and VENOM: LET THERE BE CARNAGE.

In addition to MORBIUS, Sony also has a video game adaptation film, UNCHARTED, starring Tom Holland. Fortunately, the film scheduled for release in February is still on schedule. 

Apart from Sony, there are also several films that will be released in the early year. They are Universal Studio, which will release the action thriller film THE 355 on January 7, and Paramount Pictures with the classic horror film SCREAM on January 14. It will be interesting to see if any of them will also be postponed.
