[REVIEW] 'FAST & FURIOUS 9', The Story of Dominic Toretto That No Longer Makes Logical Sense But Still Exciting

Kapanlagi.com - One year after the worldwide release schedule was delayed due to the pandemic, the story of Dominic Toretto (Vin Diesel) in FAST & FURIOUS 9 can finally be enjoyed. In this latest installment, Dom, Letty (Michelle Rodriguez), and their only son named Brian live in the countryside. Their peaceful yet vigilant life is disrupted when they receive news that Jakob (John Cena) is involved in a mission to destroy the world.

Who is Jakob? He is Dom's brother who, due to an incident in the past, led them to live separate lives. As an adult, Jakob Toretto becomes a professional killer who is also skilled in driving cars like his older brother.

Jakob's mission brings Dom and his crew, including Roman Pearce (Tyrese Gibson), Tej Parker (Ludacris), and Ramsey (Natalie Emmanuel), together to thwart the plan. Let's not forget the presence of Han (Sung Kang), who apparently is still alive after his character was made to die in the third film (which should have been the seventh film in chronological order).

1. No Longer Bound by Logic

The franchise's journey FAST FURIOUS for twenty years has made Dom and his crew's life journey deeply ingrained in the minds of the audience. When the ninth film by Justin Lin is released, the enthusiasm remains high. Especially with the return of Han, who has been one of the promotional materials from the beginning.

In terms of story and the implementation of car racing, it can no longer be logically reasoned. Nevertheless, it is still exciting to witness the madness, especially the one offered in this film. Moreover, it is made on a larger scale than the previous installments.

2. Against the Laws of Physics

In this latest installment, the creator introduces magnet-powered cars as the highlight throughout the film. Although criticized by an expert for not adhering to the laws of physics, its usage adds a refreshing element.

After the film ends, don't rush to leave the cinema because there is a mid-credit scene that serves as a hint for the tenth film. What other craziness will this saga offer?
