Review SEND HELP, 2 Hours of Emotional Roller Coaster

In SEND HELP, two coworkers, Linda Liddle (Rachel McAdams) and her sexist boss, Bradley Preston (Dylan O'Brien), are the only survivors after the plane they were on crashes. Stranded on a remote island with no help, they are forced to confront their toxic past while learning to work together for survival.

However, tensions escalate as the power dynamics shift. Pressure, long-held grudges, and past traumas turn their struggle into a mental duel full of manipulation. With death looming, their survival instincts lead to an increasingly brutal and tense confrontation. This time, KapanLagi will review a film that creates an emotional roller coaster, beware of spoilers :)

What kind of movie is this? Throughout watching this film, emotions are stirred by the unexpected dynamics between Linda Liddle (Rachel McAdams) and Bradley Preston (Dylan O'Brien).

Directed by Sam Raimi, this film tells the story of Linda and Bradley who must survive on an island in Thailand after a plane crash.

All in all, this film combines many elements. Romance, yes, horror, yes, thriller, yes, the comedy is spot on, survival, and it also delves into the psychological realm.

Like seriously! In one scene, you will be laughing out loud, and in the next scene, you will be startled by a jump scare. It also makes you think, ‘would you do the same thing if you were in their position?’

For almost 2 hours, the audience is presented with beautiful visuals. Even though the locations are limited, the beach and cliff landscapes keep it from being boring. The plot twist at the end also makes the viewing experience more complete.

Rachel McAdams is at her peak. Her acting is very different from the popular romantic drama films she has starred in. Kudos also to Dylan O’Brien for being so expressive and complementing Rachel.

There’s an interesting quote that is ironic but also a realistic slap. "No one can help you, except yourself."

However, this film is clearly not without flaws. In some parts, there are dramatic scenes and dialogues that feel a bit lengthy and are actually not that important.
