The popular Netflix series BRIDGERTON Season 3 has been released on May 16, 2024. This series is based on the Bridgerton novel series by Julia Quinn. The third season will focus on the love story between Colin Bridgerton (Luke Newton) and Penelope Featherington (Nicola Coughlan).

This third season will present several significant differences from the story in the book. BRIDGERTON Season 3 will offer a more exciting and complex story than the previous two seasons. Not only that, there will also be some new characters in this season.

Here are some differences between BRIDGERTON season 3 part 1 and the original book!

Different from the previous two seasons which were released in the order of book releases, the third season of BRIDGERTON decides to skip the third book titled An Offer From Gentleman and instead focuses on Romancing Mr. Bridgerton first.

BRIDGERTON Season 3 is set in the year 1815, shortly after the love story between Anthony Bridgerton and Kate Sharma in season two. The year depicted in this season is significantly different from the original book. Romancing Mr. Bridgerton is set in the year 1824, 11 years after Penelope's debut in the marriage market.

Both in the book and in the series, Colin takes time to realize his feelings for Penelope. The only difference is that in the book, Colin does not help Penelope find a husband. Because at that time, this action was considered inappropriate as Colin was an eligible bachelor, helping single women find husbands.

In this third season, Eloise will befriend Cressida Cowper after spending time together in the countryside. The character of Cressida Cowper in the series is not as mean as in the book. However, Cressida still has an annoying and often bothersome character towards Penelope.

Another new character is Lord Marcus Anderson. He is Lady Danbury's brother who has just visited London. Previously, Lord Anderson lived in a countryside as he was grieving over the death of his wife. After going through the mourning process, he decides to return to society and appears to be interested in Violet Bridgerton.
