Some Things You Need to Know About 'FALLOUT', a Video Game Adaptation About the Post-Nuclear World

The release of FALLOUT on Prime Video is scheduled for April 12, 2024. The release date was announced on the official X account for the franchise series. It is currently unknown whether the eight episodes will be aired all at once or if they will be released weekly, as Prime Video has done with other shows like THE BOYS and THE LORD OF THE RINGS: THE RINGS OF POWER. FALLOUT is set in America in the year 2077, after a nuclear conflict between the United States and China. After most of humanity is wiped out due to nuclear explosions and radiation, those who survive are forced to live in improvised communities amidst dangerous mutant creatures.

The video game FALLOUT has explored various areas, including post-nuclear Las Vegas, Nevada, and Washington, D.C. This adaptation is still in production, therefore Amazon or the studio behind this adaptation has not released an official synopsis. Additionally, Amazon has revealed that part of the series will be set in Vault 33 in Los Angeles.

2. Live Action Fallout Story Adaptation

Todd Howard, director of Bethesda, the video game studio that created FALLOUT, said on the Lex Fridman podcast that this show will not be a direct adaptation of the old video game.

"When people want to make it into a film, they want to tell the story of Fallout 3 or tell the story of Fallout 4,"

"For this, we want to create something that exists in the Fallout world. It's not a retelling of the game's story. It's essentially an area on the map and like, 'Let's tell a story here that fits within the world we've built and doesn't break those rules. It can reference things in the game, but it's not a retelling of those games. It exists in the same world but becomes something unique, adding dimension to that story."

Main character, Lucy, a Vault Dweller from Vault 33, will be played by Ella Purnell who previously appeared in the series YELLOWJACKETS, Lucy is described as a "cheerful woman with a typical American spirit and a dangerous sparkle in her eyes." Lucy will also be accompanied by The Ghoul, a bounty hunter who has been living in the post-nuclear wasteland of Santa Monica for 200 years after the nuclear war that changed everything, The Ghoul will be played by Walton Goggins.

The third main character in this series, a Brotherhood of Steel member named Maximus, will be played by Aaron Moten. The next main character is Overseer Hank, played by Kyle MacLachlan who is also a native resident of Vault 33, just like Lucy.
