KANDAHAR will be one of the films that will enliven cinemas in Indonesia at the end of May. This action thriller film directed by Ric Roman Waugh tells the story of a CIA spy who is trapped in Afghanistan.

The film is based on a true story experienced by Mitchell LaFortune, a former military intelligence officer who was deployed to Afghanistan in 2013 when Snowden leaked various secret operations to Wikileaks.

The film KANDAHAR features renowned American actor and producer, Gerard Butler, as the main character. In addition to Gerard, several other actors and actresses also star in the film, such as Ali Fazal, Bahador Foladi, Olivia-Mai Barrett, Nina Toussaint-White, and Rebecca Calder.

1. Synopsis of KANDAHAR

KANDAHAR tells the story of Tom Harris, a CIA agent who is given a secret mission in Afghanistan. He must go undercover and infiltrate enemy territory.

However, his cover is blown due to a leak of US intelligence data to the media outlet called Wikileaks. As a result of the leak, Tom Harris' identity and mission are exposed.

Since the mission and his cover have been compromised, he is constantly faced with enemies who are trying to kill him. Together with his translator, they struggle to escape the area and reach the extraction point in Kandahar while evading special forces and foreign spies who are hunting them down.
