The film NOISE CANCELLATION tells the story of Mi Ju, a worker struggling to claim compensation for a workplace accident after injuring her hand. However, behind her physical suffering, she is tormented by the terrifying screams of neighbors that only she can hear due to her extremely sensitive hearing. Wrapped in a horror story, this film uncovers social and psychological issues that are often hidden. This work by young director Choi Jihye is set to premiere at the Busan International Film Festival (BIFF) 2025.

NOISE CANCELLATION is a feature-length work by Choi Jihye, who is previously known for the short films SUNFLOWER (2023) and LA VIE EN ROSE (2024).

The trailer begins with showing a piece of paper with notes about a workplace accident that befell Mi Ju, injuring her hand and drastically changing her life.

That night, Mi Ju sat and typed something on her laptop; she wrote about the bitter story she had experienced since leaving the hospital. Mi Ju always heard mysterious voices that only she could hear.

"It was the day I came out of the hospital. Exactly a week ago, in December. Every night I heard voices coming from my neighbor's house," typed Mi Ju on her laptop.

Through this film, director Choi Jihye highlights social issues such as worker exploitation, isolation, and suffering that often goes unseen.
