The increasing global popularity of K-Pop has had a significant impact on the tourism sector in South Korea. This is evident from the data shared by the Korea Tourism Organization (KTO) based on their conducted survey. It was revealed that 86.8% of the survey respondents stated that K-Pop influenced their decision to visit the ginseng country, and 30.6% of them claimed to have known about K-Pop through YouTube. The survey, conducted from August to September 2019 with a total of 12,663 respondents, also asked about the most popular K-Pop artists according to them. Check out the results here!

The first position in the list of the most popular K-Pop idol groups according to foreign tourists is achieved by BTS. This group dominates 36.1% of the survey results.

EXO became the runner-up in the list with a vote of 10.4%. Despite some EXO members currently serving in the military, their popularity remains high.

Still from SM Entertainment, there's Super Junior in third place, chosen by 8.2% of respondents. It's no wonder, considering Super Junior is known by various groups.

Having a unique swag different from other idol groups makes Big Bang very popular. This boy group, which debuted in 2006, captivated 5.6% of the respondents.

Shinhwa is the only representative of the first generation K-Pop idols on the list. This senior boy group received 3% of the votes and ranked fifth.

Among the top boy groups and girl groups, there is IU who ranked sixth and obtained 2.7% of the survey results. It's not surprising that IU is nicknamed Nation's Little Sister.
