There is breaking news from the controversy surrounding Kim Soo Hyun. After denying ever dating Kim Sae Ron while the late actress was still a minor, there is now an update from the brands that contracted Kim Soo Hyun as their advertising model.
According to an exclusive report from YTN, Kim Soo Hyun is being sued by two companies that once made him their advertising model. What does the lawsuit entail?
The two companies are demanding the return of all payments they have made for the advertising contract, as well as compensation for the damage to their brand image that they have suffered.
The total lawsuit filed amounts to 30.0 billion KRW or approximately Rp 382 billion. Furthermore, YTN reported that it is highly likely that the number of companies suing Kim Soo Hyun will increase.
In fact, there is already another company that is rumored to be considering terminating its contract due to 'loss of trust' in the actor.
Currently, Kim Soo Hyun is known to have advertising model contracts with 15 renowned brands.
The contract value per brand ranges from 1 billion KRW (approximately Rp 12.7 billion) to 1.2 billion KRW (approximately Rp 15.3 billion), making him one of the highest-paid advertising actors in Korea.
"Usually, companies are reluctant to be the first to file a lawsuit against their advertising model. But once one starts, it is certain that others will follow," said an industry source to YTN.
