Chaeyoung TWICE Leaves JYP Entertainment, Will Remain Active with the Group

In her statement, Chaeyoung emphasized that this decision does not change her status as a member of TWICE. She will continue to participate in all group activities as usual, while preparing for her solo music steps titled LIL FANTASY.

This news comes just a few days after Jeongyeon's announcement that she had ended her contract with JYP on August 10, 2026.

Chaeyoung conveyed her decision directly through a handwritten letter so that the first information comes from her to ONCE, before it spreads more widely. She emphasized that her membership in TWICE remains unchanged.

She also introduced LIL FANTASY as a creative space to work more independently. This project will run alongside her activities with TWICE.

In addition to ensuring her commitment to the group, Chaeyoung mentioned that her solo activities will focus on music production and planned works prepared under the LIL FANTASY umbrella.

In the same post, Chaeyoung expressed her gratitude to JYP Entertainment and the TWICE team for the support and trust she has received over the past 14 years. She also wrote a loving message to the members who have been her support and source of motivation.

Chaeyoung emphasized that the love from the public that she feels is inseparable from her journey as part of TWICE. Therefore, both as a member of TWICE and as a solo musician through LIL FANTASY, she wants to continue to present meaningful music for her fans.

She closed her message with a promise to become a better person through the new challenges she will face, and asked ONCE to continue following her journey ahead.

3. Following Jeongyeon and Their Career Directions

Chaeyoung's decision to leave JYP came a few days after Jeongyeon announced the end of her contract on August 10, 2026. Both announcements occurred within a close timeframe.

In a different direction, Jeongyeon chose to sign an exclusive contract with Baro Entertainment. The agency also represents her sister, actress Gong Seung Yeon, as she plans to venture into acting.

While Jeongyeon moves forward with a new agency, Chaeyoung is focusing on her solo music project LIL FANTASY while continuing her activities as a member of TWICE.

4. Chaeyoung's 14-Year Journey with JYP and TWICE

Chaeyoung, born in 1999, joined as a trainee at JYP Entertainment in 2012. She then debuted with TWICE in 2015, making her total time with JYP reach 14 years, which is about half of her current age.

During that period, Chaeyoung contributed to a number of widely known TWICE hit songs, including "OOH-AHH", "CHEER UP", and "TT".

As of now, there has been no additional official statement from JYP Entertainment or TWICE regarding Chaeyoung's contract status and the group's future activity plans.
