Chronology of T.O.P's Overdose on Tranquilizers - Condition Still Critical

T.O.P of Big Bang was taken to the emergency room after losing consciousness around 5 PM local time yesterday (6/6). According to YG Entertainment, their artist indeed overdosed on the tranquilizers he consumed. T.O.P has been using tranquilizers under medical supervision. During his mandatory military service, the idol-actor was also monitored while using tranquilizers.

Various media in Korea reported that T.O.P was not unconscious, but simply asleep and unable to wake up due to an overdose of sedatives. They also stated that T.O.P's condition was not serious at all. However, this reporting is not true. YG Entertainment and T.O.P's mother immediately spoke out because only they are allowed to enter the ICU. T.O.P's mother feels hurt that her critically ill son is being reported as 'just sleeping'.

"My son is still not conscious and reading news that says 'just sleeping' is painful. Please edit and do not say such things. We do not know how it will turn out later. My son is in critical condition. I see my son dying but I see reports saying he is just sleeping. Isn't that false reporting?" said T.O.P's mother.

Furthermore, T.O.P's mother stated that her son is receiving intensive care and is using a breathing aid. "Due to a lack of oxygen, he (T.O.P) could suffer brain tissue damage," she emphasized.

YG also explained that news sourced from 'a police officer' is completely untrue. Only close family members are allowed to accompany him in the ICU. As of this report, T.O.P is still unconscious.

"When T.O.P's mother saw the quote from the police, she was very angry. T.O.P is currently using an oxygen mask and is still unconscious. Visiting is still prohibited, and only close family members are with him," the agency explained.
