Former Goo Hara Boyfriend Sentenced to One Year in Prison for Assault and Threats

Kapanlagi.com - The Supreme Court of South Korea has handed down a sentence to Choi Jong Bum, former boyfriend of Goo Hara, of one year in prison on charges of assault and threats. This was announced on Thursday, October 15.

Previously, Choi Jong Bum was accused of assaulting his former girlfriend, the late Hara. Prosecutors further charged him for threatening to release Hara's personal recordings to the public, threatening Hara and her former agency to apologize, damaging Hara's property, and violating the law on digital sexual harassment/assault after the police found unauthorized photos of the idol.

1. Former Boyfriend's Case Harassment

Initially, Choi Jong Bum was sentenced to three years probation, where if he was found guilty of additional criminal charges, he would face 1 year 6 months in prison.

Then, in the subsequent trial, a one-year prison sentence was imposed. During both trials, Choi was found guilty of assault and threats, but the court decided that there was not enough evidence to support the photos of Hara taken without her consent.

2. One-Year Prison Sentence

Today (15/10), the Supreme Court has officially upheld all the decisions made by the previous court, giving a one-year prison sentence to former boyfriend Goo Hara as reported by Allkpop.
