Former Ladies Code Member's Sad Confession, Never Received Salary for 7 Years

Kapanlagi.com - Ashley Choi, shares the story of the difficulties of being an idol. Former member of Ladies' Code, she revealed that she did not receive a single penny as salary for seven years. She revealed this in a podcast titled Get Real.

Quoting Koreaboo on Sunday (26/7/2020), in the podcast, Ashley revealed that she was once a trainee at Cube Entertainment. However, she decided to leave and join Polaris Entertainment. She then debuted with four other members under the group name Ladies' Code.

Unfortunately, in 2014, a tragic accident took the lives of two Ladies' Code members, Eunbi and Rise. Although they continued as a three-member group for a while, they eventually decided to disband and leave the agency.

1. Unable to Pay

Ashley revealed that during her time as a member of Ladies' Code, she never received any income from the company. She had to live a quite difficult life during that time.

"Honestly, it's very hard to build a comfortable life with (relying on) music. I didn't save any money for seven years," said Ashley.

Nevertheless, Ashley admitted that she never regretted her decision. Because for her, the experience she gained was worth the effort she put in. In addition, even though she didn't receive a salary, the agency provided them with a house and the necessary meals.

"I feel that the experience is worth it," she added.

3. Finally Receiving a Salary

Previously, in April, Ashley uploaded an emotional video on her YouTube Channel. In the video, Ashley revealed that she received a salary for the first time in years of pursuing a career in the Korean entertainment industry.

After successfully receiving a salary for the first time, Ashley could finally give money to her parents.
