1. BTS - Magic Shop

Boy group often uses books as inspiration for their songs. For this song, they chose the book Into the Magic Shop: A Neurosurgeon's Quest to Discover the Mysteries of the Brain and the Secrets of the Heart by James R. Doty as their inspiration.

The book tells the story of a woman named Ruth and how she opens her heart. Thanks to BTS' inspiration, this book became a monthly best seller ranking 2nd.

2. GFRIEND - Navillera

This song by girl group GFRIEND has generated various interpretations from their fans. Many fans believe that this song was inspired by the book titled The Butterfly of the Stars, or its original title in French, Le Papillon des étoiles by Bernard Werber.

Navillera itself is taken from the Korean word Navi or Na-bi, which means butterfly, just like the title of the novel Le Papillon in French means butterfly. This book tells the story of a ship that carries human beings from Earth to a planet for 1000 years. However, at the end of the journey, only one girl and three boys are left alive.

3. VIXX - Scientist

Scientist is a song inspired by a book titled Perfume: The Story of A Murderer by Patrick Suskind, first published in 1985. It tells the story of a man obsessed with women and then kills them to make perfume.

This song, released in 2018, is one of VIXX's songs that uses a unique concept. In the music video for Scientist, the atmosphere of making perfume according to the story in the book is depicted.

4. IU - Zeze

One of the songs in IU's album titled Smash Hits 2: The Stories Between U & I was released in 2018. Apparently, this song is inspired by the book My Sweet Orange Tree by José Mauro de Vasconcelos.

In the book, Zeze is portrayed as a 5-year-old boy who often experiences violence from his family. However, in IU's song, Zeze is a mischievous child who likes to tease. This is what made the song controversial as it was considered far from the original story.

5. SHINee - Sherlock

The song released in 2013 was inspired by the famous book Sherlock Holmes by Arthur Conan Doyle. It tells the story of a detective investigating a case by solving puzzles.
