According to Yonhap News reports, the police received a report on the morning of August 5, 2026, after being contacted by one of Mina's acquaintances. Authorities are still conducting an investigation to uncover the complete facts regarding the case.
Mina is known to be a Japanese national living in Yongsan District, Seoul.
Mina's friend who reported to the police said that Mina attempted to end her life while live streaming on TikTok at the officetel where she lived in Hangangno-dong.
During the live stream, viewers also used X and other social media platforms to urge authorities to take immediate action.
Seoul Yongsan Police Station is currently investigating the cause and chronology of the incident.
