Legal Counsel: Stop Health Issues Surrounding Ruben Onsu, Non-Reactive Test Results

The issue regarding the health of Ruben Onsu has resurfaced, particularly concerning the rumor of the "three-letter" disease associated with him. In response to this, Ruben's legal counsel, Minola Sebayang, requested that public speculation be promptly ended. He emphasized that Ruben has undergone a comprehensive health examination at a credible laboratory and the results were declared non-reactive.

"What we need to protect are the children. Because they will certainly be the ones who suffer if news about the three letters continues to be sensationalized. Even though we have stated that it is non-reactive," said Minola Sebayang when met in Kuningan, South Jakarta, on Monday (3/8/2026).

According to Minola, with the non-reactive examination results from a trusted laboratory institution, there is no need to prolong the controversy. He believes that stopping speculation is essential to avoid further impacts in the public sphere.

Minola emphasized that discussions regarding the sensitive health issue should come to an end. He reminded that Ruben has already provided clarification, so there is no reason to continue debating something that he believes is clear.

"What’s important is being non-reactive, just close it, no need to question it, and this is also to protect the interests and future of the children. Ruben has given clarification, I think that’s enough, right? Enough," he explained.

He also urged parties who are still escalating the issue to consider its impact. According to Minola, stopping speculation is part of the effort to protect Ruben's children from potential psychological and social harm that may arise.

2. Examination Results: Non-Reactive from a Credible Laboratory

Regarding the doubts circulating on social media, including comments from parties claiming to be health professionals, Minola emphasized that the primary reference remains the results of the laboratory examination. He stated that the tests were conducted at a highly trusted institution in Indonesia.

"It’s impossible for Ruben to associate the name of a highly trusted and reputable laboratory institution in Indonesia with falsehoods, right? So let’s stop, because if this continues to be pushed, then opinions will develop," said Minola.

Minola believes that the laboratory results stating non-reactive are already sufficient as a reference. He underscored that further debate could potentially lead to unfounded wild opinions and expand the impact of the issue.

3. Impact Priorities for Children and Sensitive Issues

On the other hand, Minola again highlighted the aspect of children as a priority. He urged all parties to be more wise in raising sensitive issues so as not to affect the condition of Ruben's children. According to him, keeping the public discourse healthy is an important part of protecting their interests.

"Why should we discuss something sensitive because the impact will be on the children, right? We don't want them to think 'Oh this impact is for Ruben, Ruben, Ruben'. Ruben has already issued a clarification," he concluded.

Minola also hopes that public attention is directed towards more important matters, including maintaining the mental condition of Ruben's children amid the ongoing legal process. He reiterated that the clarification has been made and the laboratory test results stated non-reactive.
