KIFF 2021 Officially Held, 'SINKHOLE' Becomes the Opening Film

Kapanlagi.com - Korea Indonesia Film Festival (KIFF) 2021 is finally officially held on Wednesday (27/10). Due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic, the opening event held at CGV Grand Indonesia, Central Jakarta, was only attended by several media colleagues and invited guests.

Before watching the film, the audience was entertained by a traditional South Korean dance called Buchaechum, which is usually performed at cultural events or festivals. The dance was performed by several female dancers while holding fans.

After that, the Director of the Korean Cultural Center Indonesia (KCCI), Kim Yong Woon, gave his welcoming speech, hoping that KIFF 2021 could entertain the audience who are tired due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

"I hope KIFF can be an entertainer for the audience who are tired due to Covid-19. I sincerely thank everyone who has prepared for this event. I hope you have a pleasant time with this event," said Kim Yong Woon.

1. SINKHOLE Becomes the Opening Film

SINKHOLE also becomes the opening film at the KIFF 2021 event. The film, starring Kim Sung Kyun, Cha Seung Won, and Lee Kwang Soo, tells the story of a disaster that befalls the house owned by Park Dong Won (Kim Sung Kyun).

The house, which was bought after 11 years of struggle, turns out to fall into a 500-meter deep hole. Park Dong Won and his friends are trapped in the hole filled with water due to rain.

In addition to SINKHOLE, other films that are shown include HOSTAGE: MISSING CELEBRITY, PAWN, SAMJIN COMPANY ENGLISH CLASS, AN OLD LADY, RECALLED, THE BOX, DOUBLE PATTY, SEOBOK, VETERAN, THE WAILING, BATTLE OF JANGSARI, ESCAPE FROM MOGADISHU, and SALUT D'AMOUR. Meanwhile, there are two Indonesian films, MEKAH I'M COMING and ASIH 2.

KIFF 2021 is screened at CGV Grand Indonesia Jakarta and CGV Paris Van Java Bandung from October 27th to 31st, 2021 with ticket prices of Rp.15,000. If you want it for free, viewers can also watch it online through Vidio.com.
