Kim Ha Neul and Rain Reveal Their Characters and Chemistry in the Drama 'RED SWAN'

Kapanlagi.com - The latest drama Kim Ha Neul and Rain titled RED SWAN will soon be exclusively airing on Disney+ Hotstar starting from July 3, 2024. A day before the premiere, director Park Hong Kyun and the cast held a press conference.

In addition to Park Hong Kyun, Kim Ha Neul, and Rain, there are also Jung Gyu Woon, Seo Yi Sook, and Ki Eun Se who attended this press conference. Not only introducing their characters in the drama, the cast also answered various questions about RED SWAN.

First, there is Kim Ha Neul who plays the character Oh Wan Soo, a former professional golfer married to a chaebol, the heir of Hwain Group, Kim Yong Kook played by Jung Gyu Woon.

When asked about her role as Oh Wan Soo, Kim Ha Neul said, "Well, I became an Ambassador of Friendship and the Leader of the Now Foundation. I did many public tasks just like a real Ambassador of Friendship. Because they looked very confident and graceful, I learned from them starting from their gestures, how they stood in front of the public, their mindset, and everything."

Furthermore, Kim Ha Neul also maintained her appearance by wearing various elegant outfits to emit a gentle and elegant charisma. Besides doing research to deepen the character of the Ambassador of Friendship, Kim Ha Neul also learned to play golf to appear like a professional golfer.

"Yes, actually golf is the most difficult thing. Actually, I used to play golf before, but (in this drama) I was required to be the best in the world. So, even though I practiced hard, starting from the pose and others, I felt not 100 percent perfect. What is clear is that I have done my best and looked professional in front of the camera," she explained.

2. Rain's Character

Unlike Kim Ha Neul, who feels unsatisfied with her acting as a golf player, Rain actually praises his co-star. "She (Kim Ha Neul) truly radiates charisma. And for me, she really looks like a pro," Rain compliments.

Rain also praises how great Kim Ha Neul is at memorizing many dialogues, while he only has a few lines to speak due to his character as a bodyguard. Because of this, Rain still showcases extra acting through expressions and eye movements.

"It becomes more challenging for me because I have to express emotions without speaking loudly. I have to focus on my eyes, as written in the script, Seo Do Yoon looks at Oh Wan Soo as if he understands everything. So I do more eyeball acting," Rain reveals.

Realizing that he doesn't have wide eyes, Rain even sacrifices skipping dinner to prevent his face from swelling during the shooting process. He also mentions that he always goes for a morning run before heading to the shooting location. Wow!

3. Chemistry Kim Ha Neul & Rain

Answering the next question, Kim Ha Neul admitted to being very satisfied with her chemistry with Rain in the drama. Especially when performing the scene where Seo Do Yoon saves Oh Wan Soo from a terrorist attack in Manila, Philippines.

"I feel like I'm in good hands. In certain situations when your body is being carried, usually you would worry, 'Is my body too heavy? Can my co-star do it correctly?'. But I feel very comfortable because Jihoon turns out to be very strong and I can rely on him," explained Kim Ha Neul.
