Kapanlagi.com - K-Pop idol groups do not always perform with all their members; some groups must carry out their activities with incomplete line-ups due to members being on hiatus. Having members on hiatus in a K-Pop group is not unusual, as idols often face various issues that require them to take time off to rest.
Some conditions that K-Pop idols experience, leading them to decide to go on hiatus, include anxiety disorders, health issues, improving physical and mental well-being, or even facing problems. The various reasons for K-Pop idols going on hiatus are not entirely due to negative issues; a packed schedule can limit rest time, which can endanger an idol's health, thus necessitating a break or hiatus.
Year after year, there are often idols who decide to take a hiatus from their group activities, sometimes for a considerable period. This year, the following K-Pop idols have decided to go on hiatus; who are they? Let's check out the following article!

On September 18, JYP Entertainment officially announced that Lia ITZY will be on hiatus from all group activities due to mental health issues. In the official statement, JYP stated that Lia is experiencing extreme stress and anxiety, leading to medical advice for her to take a break. With the artist's health as a priority and after further discussions with the members, the agency decided that Lia will take a short break from all group activities.
Through the official ITZY Instagram account, Lia wrote a touching message to her fans regarding her health condition. She expressed that she has started to lose herself and needs time to rest in order to love and recharge herself.

In April, Starship Entertainment officially announced that Rei IVE will take a temporary hiatus due to health issues. The agency stated that Rei experienced unusual symptoms such as shortness of breath and heart palpitations, which led her to decide to seek medical attention. After receiving medical guidance and discussions with Rei, the agency decided to temporarily halt all of Rei's activities.
Rei wrote a heartfelt letter to her fans who were concerned about her health, along with an apology for her hiatus from group activities, which coincidentally was during a comeback. Rei mentioned that she needs to take a short break to recover her health so that she can return to activities at her best.

Since last August, Taeil NCT has been reported to be absent from group and individual activities due to an injury from a motorcycle accident. SM Entertainment stated that Taeil will be on hiatus for some time because he suffered a fracture in his right thigh, requiring surgery and focusing on his rehabilitation. This has prevented Taeil from participating in the group promotions for NCT 127's comeback with the album "Fact Check".
To his fans, Taeil expressed his apologies and updated them on his health condition. He also apologized for not being able to participate in the 'NCT NATION: To The World' concert held on August 26.

The next idol who also took a hiatus this year is Seungkwan Seventeen, specifically in July. Pledis Entertainment announced that Seungkwan was taken to the hospital due to feeling unwell. Because of this health issue, the medical team advised that Seungkwan take complete rest to recover his health.
The agency revealed that Seungkwan is determined to continue with the scheduled activities. However, the agency feels it would be better for Seungkwan to focus on recovering his condition as per medical advice. Seungkwan will also have to miss the Tencent Music Entertainment Award (TMEA) 2023, the fansign event in China, and the SEVENTEEN Tour Follow to Seoul.

Besides Seungkwan, the leader of Seventeen also took a hiatus last August. The agency stated that S.Coups suffered a knee injury during a soccer match. An MRI scan showed that he had torn his ACL (Anterior Cruciate Ligament). He had to undergo surgery and rehabilitation, which forced him to take a hiatus from group activities.
S.Coups also wrote a touching message to CARAT (the name for Seventeen's fans), expressing that he was too excited during filming and was initially shocked when he suddenly got injured. He also felt sad for having to miss various planned activities. However, for now, it would be better for him to focus on his recovery so he can heal as quickly as possible and return to give his best performances.
