List of Korean Stars Known to be Gay or Lesbian, Dating a Group Member - Agency Expelled

Hong Seok Chun can be said to be the first Korean celebrity who openly admitted that he is gay. Now he is one of the famous TV personalities in Korea. Hong Seok Chun is also an actor and entrepreneur.

In the early 2000s, there was a popular boyband named K'Pop. Shortly after their career, they suddenly disbanded. The reason was shocking. So, there were two K'Pop members who were in a relationship (until now it is unknown who the two members are). One of the gay couple cheated on the other member of the boyband, which led to him being abused by his partner. Because of this incident, K'Pop decided to disband.

Solo female singer Magoply, shortly after her debut in 2007, openly admitted that she is a lesbian. Shortly after her statement, Magoply, whose real name is Maman, was expelled from her agency, Jerry Entertainment.

Director of the film Kim Jo Gwang Soo (left) married his younger gay partner, Kim Seung Hwan, who is 19 years younger than him, in September 2013. In order to gain recognition, they got married in public regardless of the demonstrations carried out by some people.

Before debuting in the K-Pop music world in 2018, MRSHLL, who originally came from the United States, had already come out as gay in 2015. He went to Korea to pursue a career as a K-Pop star.

Two members of the boyband D.I.P, Seungho and B.Nish, came out as a gay couple during a live session on Instagram. They even said they had been dating for years. Two years after their debut, they left D.I.P in 2018.

In 2018, solo singer Holland also caused a sensation when he openly came out as gay. In fact, in his solo debut MV, Neverland, Holland proudly portrays the love story between two men.

Solo singer and former contestant of Idol School, Som Hein, admitted to being bisexual and was dating a woman in 2019. In an IG post, she expressed her happiness in finally being able to come out. However, a year later, Hein and her girlfriend broke up.

Trot singer, Kwon Do Woon, revealed that he is gay during the celebration of his 20-year career. He also recently announced that he has a boyfriend whom he met at a gay bar.

The latest to come out as bisexual is Jiae, former member of the girl group WASSUP. Jiae also revealed that she is currently in a relationship with a woman.
