Melani Mecimapro Acquitted in TWICE Concert Case, Here's What the Lawyer Said

Melani Mecimapro can finally breathe a sigh of relief after the judges acquitted her. Melani was previously entangled in a case of alleged embezzlement and fraud related to the funds of the famous K-Pop group, TWICE. This decision brings fresh air for Melani's side, who have believed from the beginning that she is innocent.

Ardhi Wirakusumah, as Melani Mecimapro's legal counsel, expressed his gratitude for the judge's ruling in today's trial. According to him, all the charges against his client have not been proven legally. The legal team also appreciated the trial process, which ultimately revealed the true facts of the case that ensnared the concert promoter.

"We would like to thank the media colleagues who have been present from the beginning of the trial until the end today. Where today we have all heard that all the charges and demands against our client, Mrs. Franciska Dwi Meilani, have not been proven legally and convincingly," said Ardhi Wirakusumah at the South Jakarta District Court on Monday (9/2/2026).

"This means that in this case, Mrs. Franciska Dwi Meilani has not been proven legally and convincingly as alleged under Articles 372 and 378, or embezzlement and fraud," Ardhi Wirakusumah continued.

Furthermore, Ardhi explained that from the beginning, his party believed that this case was not a criminal matter, but rather a civil legal issue. He also noted to the investigative team to be more careful in determining the status of suspects in the future. This is because all the trial facts show that there are no criminal elements committed by his client.

"As I stated from the beginning, I assure you that the legal event that occurred between PT IB and PT Melania Citra Permata is a civil legal event. It is important to remember that in this case, the investigation process needs to be reconsidered, reminding the investigative teams whether it is appropriate to designate our client as a suspect," he said.

"In this case, it was proven today that the decision against our client is not proven legally and convincingly, which means that indeed all the facts of the trial do not prove that our client committed a criminal act. That is essentially the first point," he added.

After undergoing a detention period of about five months since September 2025, Melani Mecimapro is reported to need time to calm down. She plans to take a break before returning to activities in the entertainment industry. This step is taken to recover her mental and physical condition after going through a fairly lengthy legal process.

"If I heard correctly earlier, she indeed wants to take a break first. Because she has been in there for about four to five months since September," he said.

"We urge or remind the media outside or wherever, not to create a negative narrative about our client. In this case, our client wants to have a career, wants to continue her company's activities in concert production, creating positive things for this country and nation. So we kindly ask our media colleagues to create a good and accurate narrative, that is our message," concluded Ardhi.
