Set in the future, this drama tells the story of a time when the earth has experienced a crisis of water and food due to severe drought. Han Yoon Jae (Gong Yoo), who works as a space soldier, leads a mission to the moon with Song Ji An (Bae Doo Na) and Ryu Tae Seok (Lee Joon) to obtain a secret sample. Netflix released the first photo of HELLBOUND that exudes a dark aura. As the title suggests, this Korean drama adapted from the webtoon HELL revolves around the fantasy theme of mysterious angels appearing on Earth to punish humans.

There are 5 main characters in this drama. Jeong Jin Su (Yoo Ah In) is the leader of the New Truth Church, which emerges as a new religion in South Korea. Meanwhile, Bae Yeong Jae (Park Jeong Min) is a TV show producer who wants to delve deeper into the New Truth Church.

There is also Min Hye Jin (Kim Hyun Joo), a smart and confident lawyer who opposes the teachings and followers of the New Truth Church. Another character is Hong Ji Yeong (Won Jin Ah), the wife of Bae Young Jae and a member of the New Truth Church. She is currently depressed due to the pressures of life. Lastly, there is the character Jin Gyeong Hun (Yang Ik Jun), a detective investigating the angel of death.
