Baeksang Arts Awards returns as a prestigious event for the South Korean entertainment industry. Recently, the list of nominees for the 61st edition was officially announced. According to the schedule, the award ceremony will be held in early May.

The polling for the Popularity Award Baeksang Arts Awards 2025 has officially opened at 10 AM today. The enthusiasm from fans is very high, as seen from the drastic increase in the number of votes. Interestingly, the names currently leading are not the most favored.
In the men's category, Byeon Woo Seok, the main actor in the drama LOVELY RUNNER, is in the top position with 21,967 votes, surpassing Park Bo Gum who has just received 7,496 votes.
Meanwhile, in the women's category, Lee Hyeri surprises the public with 39,918 votes, far exceeding IU who has collected 27,917 votes. The third position is held by Jung Haein and Kim Hye Yoon respectively for the men's and women's categories.
Every nomination in this year's Baeksang comes from works released between April 1, 2024, and March 31, 2025. Only dramas or films that have aired at least one-third of their episodes can enter the selection process.
The evaluation is conducted by 60 professional panelists from the South Korean entertainment industry. Starting this year, the "Television" category has been revamped into the Broadcast Category (Broadcast Category), to accommodate the growth of OTT platforms and other digital content. This is an adaptive step by Baeksang to the ever-changing entertainment landscape.
