Profile of Fachri Albar, Popular as an Actor and Child of a Musician but Caught in Drug Problems

Fachri Albar, born on November 15, 1981, in Jakarta, is an Indonesian actor and musician known as the son of legendary vocalist Ahmad Albar and actress Rini S. Bono.

Fachri's acting career began in 2005 with the soap opera "Malin Kundang" aired on SCTV. His feature film debut occurred the same year in the movie "Alexandria".

His name became more well-known after starring in the film "Kala" (2007) by Joko Anwar, where he played the role of Janus, as well as "Pintu Terlarang" (2009) as Gambir. Both films solidified his reputation as an actor with deep acting abilities and bold role choices.​

Fachri is also recognized for his role in the horror film "Pengabdi Setan" (2017) and its sequel "Pengabdi Setan 2: Communion" (2022), where he portrayed the character Batara. Additionally, he appeared in the film "V/H/S/2" (2013) in the segment "Safe Haven" directed by Timo Tjahjanto and Gareth Evans. His presence in various film genres demonstrates his capability and flexibility as an actor.

Having Arab descent, Fachri grew up in a strong artistic environment, which shaped his interest in the entertainment world from a young age. In his personal life, Fachri married actress and model Renata Kusmanto on June 12, 2014, and they have two children.

Fachri Albar's career in music may not be as popular as his acting career, but he still has a quite interesting track record. He was once part of a rock band called Jibriel, formed with his friends, including former Slank member Pay Burman. This choice was influenced by the musical preferences of his father, Ahmad Albar, who is also the vocalist of the legendary group God Bless.

However, Fachri's career journey has not always been smooth. In 2007, he had legal troubles related to a drug case, although he was eventually released due to insufficient evidence. In 2018, he was arrested again for drug possession and underwent legal proceedings. Now he must be examined again after being arrested on April 20, 2025.
